Arthur’s Seat
A risograph series
For Arthur’s Seat, I created a series of three risograph prints, using my own photos as reference, which I took during a trip up Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh. This project was inspired by my previous risograph print Basked in Sunlight and also by David Hockeny’s vibrant paintings of landscapes. Using only four colours in each print, I explore the potential of colour combinations on the risograph. These were designed as separate greyscale files and layered over each other during the printing process. The final outcomes have a soft, painterly quality, something which can be challenging to achieve with the vivid and digital aesthetic of the risograph.
